A Brief Overview of the St. Norbert College TRIPS Program

The APA’s Center for Psychology in Schools and Education

Residing in De Pere, WI, Father Jay Fostner is the vice president of mission and student affairs at St. Norbert College, and a member of the institution’s instructional faculty. Father Jay Fostner earned his doctor of philosophy in clinical psychology from the Berkeley, California-based California School of Professional Psychology, and is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA).

Dedicated to representing the psychology industry in America, the APA is a leading scientific and professional organization that has over 121,000 members. The APA provides a diverse array of supportive resources for pre-kindergarten to grade 12 teachers and other educational professionals through the organization’s Center for Psychology in Schools and Education. The center’s professional development programs are available for free, and are designed to benefit teachers and students by promoting the incorporation of psychology into education.

Each program has been assessed and approved by the APA’s Office of Continuing Education in Psychology. These learning modules can also be used for continuing education credit for teachers and psychology professionals. Some of the program topics available include bullying in school, classroom disruption interventions, and improving students’ relationships with teachers.
